Creating a Blog Post with ChatGPT
Introduction - Following a Process
One of the many challenges anyone who uses ChatGPT or other Generative AI tools faces is how much data to put into a single prompt. The answer depends on many factors, but an important one is the amount of data you are asking to be returned and what impact this has on the AI’s token limit. This restricts the amount of information generated in a single Prompt/Response pair, i.e., but not the overall content within the Chat itself.
The best way to demonstrate this is by creating a prompt to test these limits. I started with the following prompt:
Prompt:
Please use UK English in your response. In approximately 2,400 to 2,500 words, create a blog post titled “The Intersection of AI and Human Expertise: Transforming Coaching, Mentoring, and Teaching”. Create a separate excerpt of between 95 and 105 words in addition to the blog post content. Generate content that reflects a human author's tone, depth, and creativity. Include personal perspectives and varied sentence structures, and avoid overly generic or repetitive phrasing. Suggest between three and five SEO terms, an SEO Title of no more than 100 characters, and an SEO Description of no more than 400 characters. Please suggest three to five Categories and Tags for the blog post.
I received a "Continue Generating" message, which I clicked. However, no additional content was provided. I wanted to know whether the message was symptomatic of the complexity of the prompt or some other limitation.

In this case, a glitch or a limitation in content length likely caused the interruption, resulting in no additional content being generated. Given the complexity and length of your original request, the response might have approached the system's token limit, leading to the truncation.

This makes it difficult to write meaningful blog posts using a single prompt. Should I restructure the prompt to ask for an excerpt for a specific topic, seven to ten main points, then create separate prompts for each of those points, ask for a conclusion, then ask for SEO terms, etc.?

2. You can regenerate until you see whether the response is what you wanted or expected
3. You can ask for the response to be shortened or expanded, again considering the response you believe your readers will be interested in
